What Makes Our Preschool Special

The Learning and Belonging (LAB) Preschool has been a part of the University of Montana campus and the larger Missoula community for over 60 years. In October 2009, our program moved into the beautiful new Phyllis J. Washington Education Center where we have a large, open classroom surrounded by windows and doors leading onto a covered porch.

Preschool Program - Overview

All children ages 3 through 5 in the Missoula, MT area are eligible for enrollment in the Learning and Belonging (LAB) Preschool. Two sessions are offered (9:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM) Monday – Thursday.

Meet the Instructors!

Each preschool session is facilitated by a supervising teacher with mastery level early childhood teaching skills. The supervising teachers are supported by a director who has experience and expertise in early childhood and who is a research faculty member of the Department of Curriculum and Instruction. In addition, each supervising teacher is supported in the classroom by an Assistant Teacher.
