EDU 202

Course Information

Offered autumn and spring, EDU 202 is a guided introductory field experience course for students who have been admitted to the Teacher Education Program. This field experience connects concurrent theory classes to practice. Seminars include development of a professional development portfolio, developmental level of students, diversity, learning/teaching strategies, motivation, classroom management, assessment of learning.

  • Class is one credit, Credit/No Credit
  • Required field experience - allow 3-5 hours/week to be scheduled during school hours (approximately 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m., M-F)
  • Secondary and K-12 majors must have a middle school and an high school field experience prior to student teaching.
  • Elementary majors also completing a K-12 or Secondary major/minor must complete one additional field experience prior to student teaching.

To be eligible to enroll in the course, students must have full or provisional admission to the Teacher Education Program.
