Prospective, current undergraduate and post-baccalaureate Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education majors can now schedule their academic advising appointments in Navigate.
Navigate is a free mobile app that will help you thrive at UM. Navigate can help students at all levels, whether you're just getting started or nearing graduation. Think of it like a personal advisor in your pocket!
To schedule an advising appointment with your advisor via Navigate, you will click 'Schedule an Appointment' and are prompted to make choices for the type of support you are looking for. You can click through and select from the following choices:
- Select a Care Unit
- Select a Service Category
- Select a Service
- Select a Location
- Select a specific staff member or 'Any Staff member'
- Choose a date and time from a list of availability. From this screen, you will also have the option to view drop-in times or send appointment requests.
After making your selections, you will see a confirmation page with the details of your appointment. You will have the option to use the 'Comments' box to leave a note for your advisor about what you are hoping to discuss in your appointment. You will also have two options for receiving a reminder about your appointment; you can opt in or out of receiving an email and/or text message. Lastly, click 'Confirm Appointment'.
Students who receive their primary or supplemental advising at Teacher Education Services can also schedule an appointment with their assigned advisor by contacting them directly.
